Disciplinary Procedures for Club Secretaries
All disciplinary procedures are governed by RFU Regulation 19. Access the regulation and associated appendices here: RFU Regulation 19 – Disciplinary Procedures
Key Points:
- A player is banned immediately upon being sent off and cannot play until the matter is resolved by a county disciplinary panel and the fine is paid.
- Ensure compliance with the procedures to avoid additional penalties.
Red Card Notifications
When a player or individual is sent off, you must notify the disciplinary secretary or chairman within 48 hours via this form.
Important: Referee reports will only be shared after notifying the relevant official.
A county hearing is required for:
- Not guilty pleas
- Referee abuse cases
- Incidents involving serious injuries
Notify intent as soon as possible to arrange a timely hearing.
Citings
Citings must be submitted within 7 days of the event using this form: Please Refer to RFU Regulation 19 (Appendix 4) for procedures.
Disciplinary Fixed Penalties
- Basic Fixed Penalty: £40
- Abuse of Officials: Up to £50
- Failure to report a sending-off: £40
- Failure to return a Plea Form:
- Within 14 days: £40
- Within 28 days: £60
